825 capsule exhibits excellent onstage performance
The Sennheiser XSW 1-825 is outfitted with their 825 capsule. For a great all-around stage mic, you can't beat the 825. Its cardioid pickup pattern yields superior feedback and off-axis rejection. Its balanced frequency response exhibits a warm, smooth sound. You'll also appreciate its resistance to handling noise.
Sennheiser — exceptional sound quality and reliability
The Sennheiser name is synonymous with wired and wireless microphones, complete wireless systems, and studio-grade headphones. For example, guitarists worldwide know that the e609 and e906 dynamic microphones sound outstanding with pretty much any guitar amplifier, and their ruggedness makes them perfect for live use. The MD 421 dynamic mic is known by studio engineers to be a flexible solution for vocals, drums, amps and bass cabinets, with high SPL handling and excellent transient response. Onstage, artists know that when they're handed an e865, e935, e945 or other Sennheiser vocal microphone, they can expect studio-quality reproduction and excellent resistance to feedback. And in the world of wireless microphone systems, Sennheiser's evolution wireless systems give you the ability to set up many simultaneous wireless channels without interference.
The Sennheiser story
Sennheiser has been producing broadcast technology products since the 1940s and continues to develop microphone technology and wireless systems. Based in Germany, Sennheiser actually began as Laboratorium Wennebostel, manufacturing tube voltmeters. Microphone production followed shortly, and Lab W microphones quickly became a trusted name in broadcast, movie, and TV production. After adopting the Sennheiser name in 1958, their continued advancements in microphone technology soon made them popular with recording studios. Notable innovations include some of the first RF wireless systems for TV and stage use, the first interference tube mic for movies and TV, and the world's first open-back headphones.

825 or 835, that is the question…
You’ve decided on XS Wireless 1, but you aren’t sure which capsule to go with. In most cases, the 825 is everything you’d need in a vocal mic—quality sound packaged in a design built to last. While the 825 is ideal for speech, the 835 is for vocalists that want a little more help cutting through the mix. Featuring a gentle boost at 3kHz – 5kHz to help with vocal presence, and then enhanced frequencies up to 12kHz for added brightness, the 835 helps your voice shine right out of the box.
